Research Into Our Film Genre

As our film genre is supernatural - thriller I researched into supernatural - thriller film posters:

Here is a moodboard of a few film posters for inspiration as to what to include in our thriller opening.

After seeing these posters and the common conventions in these films we decided to create a moodboard which has some location, character and clothing ideas:

After we completed this we decided that our opening would be set in late 1990s and in the forest. We also decided that our 'villain' would be a young possessed girl.

How this will help me to create my thriller opening:

These moodboards have allowed us to gain a wider knowledge of what other films of a similar genre to ours are like and the second moodboard has allowed us to brainstorm all of our ideas into one place. This means that we will be able to match our ideas to the common conventions in other films, so we will know what will work better than other things.
